I have a dream that one day quality education will be accessible to all. I dream of a world where every child has equal opportunities to learn and grow. I have a dream where what is in your pocket will not limit how much you can know or how far you can soar. I have a dream where every child has access to effective, engaging education. A Major Crisis

In 2023 the UN reported that the world that we live in is facing a MAJOR crisis. What is that crisis you may ask? The world is falling far behind on quality education. Despite the rise in primary and secondary school completion rates, progress towards quality education is still hindered. Progress to quality education was already slower than required over the years but with the devastating impacts of the Covid 19 pandemic on education, we have been pushed further behind.

And without additional measures, by 2030, the UN reports that 84 million children and youth will be out of school, 300 million students will lack basic numeracy/literacy skills and only 1 in 6 countries will achieve their universal secondary school completion target. With low- and lower middle-income countries already facing a nearly annual financing gap of $100 billion to reach their education targets, this news cannot get any worse.

And so I ask the question, What can we do about it?

The Oppia Foundation

In the midst of crisis, comes an open source solution known as the Oppia Foundation. Crafted by a team of compassionate and committed volunteers around the world, this Edutech platform is geared towards helping underserved students in 25+ countries receive a quality education. And they are just beginning!

Oppia is looking to expand their reach and impact by upgrading their courses and expanding to more countries. But they need your help! In order to keep the foundation running Oppia is seeking help from volunteers and donors around the world who are willing to join them on this mission of providing quality education to learners worldwide.
